Thoughts of the Season - January-February 2013

Thu, 01/31/2013 - 2:26pm -- Toni

“Look well to the growing edge. All around us, worlds are dying and new worlds are being born.”
                                                                                                                                     Howard Thurman

We begin a new year—an auspicious new year at that! According to many, this is the first year of a new world consciousness! As with any new birth, the “being” that is born has just begun an amazing journey of growth, discovery and change.

We are Co-Creators!

Georgiana Tree West, the founder of Unity Center of Practical Christianity in New York City, wrote the book, Prosperity’s Ten Commandments, that has been used by many a Unity minister over the years to help folks understand our way of seeing and living prosperity principles. I would like to share a paragraph from her discussion of the 4th Prosperity Commandment --Thou shalt let go and let God do it. (I have taken the liberty of updating some of the language. We begin a new year—an auspicious new year at that! According to many, this is the first year of a new world consciousness! As with any new birth, the “being” that is born has just begun an amazing journey of growth, discovery and change. The passage below was written by Margaret Stortz, a retired UCRS minister, and she describes the impact of change and new birth very well.

From Andy Kraus ---

Denial Today

and Live in Faith [option A]

Affirmation Led to Right Action,
I step forward [option B],
assured of my GOOD.

And So It Is.
=========================================

The denial statement works as it stands without the addition of Option A.

We refrain from worry about ANY and EVERY thing

Tithe Corner: Words from Charles Fillmore in his book Prosperity - November 2012

Wed, 10/17/2012 - 2:28pm -- Toni

"Another blessing that follows the practice of tithing is the continual "letting go" of what one receives, which keeps one's mind open tithe good and free from covetousness. Making on occasional large gift and then permitting a lapse of time before another is made will not give this lasting benefit, for one's mind channel may in the meantime become clogged with material thoughts of fear, lack or selfishness. When a person tithes he is giving continuously, so that no spirit of grasping, no fear, and no thought of limitations gets a hold on him.

Words from the Board - March 2012

"Remember that you are a teacher, you are helping people, making them feel safer, taking them from fear to love, from ignorance to knowledge." - Stewart Wilde

Do you see yourself in this quote?  Or do you believe that those in leadership positions are the ones who teach?  Hint: Leaders are people, just like you and me.
